gorgeous geometry

Happy Thursday crafty friends! Our Seize the Birthday topping this week, courtesy of Nance is geometry + word dies. Dug out some rarely used word dies as I feel like I use the same ones all the time.  This card is a dark people so, of course, it is hard to photograph properly. This hot foil plate has to my be my favourite geometric element in my craft supplies (which says a lot - haha) so had to use it.

Hope you can play along with us this week.  Please stop by the blog and give some crafty love to the design team, our Surprise Party Guest Stacey.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a terrific day and a wonderful weekend.

divine double frames

Happy Thursday crafty friends! Our topping this week, courtesy of Nancy, is making a double frame.  I haven't used these circle dies very much so thought I would put them to good use for this challenge.  Really like how this card turned out.

fabulous fall colours

Welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge.  This week the topping is courtesy of Linda and it is use fall colours. While I love the fall colours and the low light of the sun through the trees, I am definitely missing the higher temperatures (I do love being warm!). I've been doing some cycling recently and the views have been quite lovely (but did I mention I'm going to miss summer?).

I will quit whining and show you my card.  I was inspired by my friend Cheiron - it was fun to add some texture with an embossing folder. The fall colours do really pop in the alcohol inks.

sentiment strip

Happy Thursday crafty friends.  Our topping this week, courtesy of Jules, is adding a sentiment strip.  I do love sentiment strips and don't use them often enough.  I pulled out my hot foiling machine and pulled together this CAS card.

dynamite dies

Happy crafty Thursday friends.  Can someone tell me how it came to be the end of August?!? Wasn't it just May?

Thanks for stopping by for our Seize the Birthday Challenge.  JoAnn has asked us this week to just use dies, no stamping.  Well, I just got this new Waffleflower Happy Submarine die set as a gift from a friend so thought it was a great time to use it.  I don't have a lot of word dies for birthdays (not sure why) but thought this celebrate worked well.

Hope you can play along with us! Be sure to check out the blog for the rest of the dynamite creations from the rest of the team, as well as our Surprise Party Guest Lynda.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a terrific day and a wonderful upcoming weekend.

cheers

Happy  Thursday crafty friends.  It's funny/punny time at Seize the Birthday.  Thanks to Jenny for this topping! I'm not really a punny person and for some strange reason I don't have many funny sentiments either (really should remedy that!) but I managed to pull together this colourful card.  I do love a cocktail so finding some drink dies was definitely not a problem!

navy + teal

I seem to decide to play along with Colour Hues when it's a colour combination that I hardly ever put together! Maybe it's my subconscious telling me I need to get out of my comfort zone! LOL. I do love how these colours came together - thank you Karen for the challenge.

Used some Distress Oxide inks on the stencil and then a hot foiled sentiment. The enamel dots are navy (even though they look black in the picture).

Hope you're having a great week and thanks for stopping by.

square with a twist

Happy challenge day crafters!  It's my turn to pick the topping at Seize the Birthday and was trying to think "not too difficult but a little bit different.  So, I went with two things that I really like but don't do often - a square card and a non-white card base.  Even though I love kraft card bases, I hardly ever do them so I did two of them for the challenge.

who is counting?

Happy Thursday crafty friends!  Hope you're having a good week.

The topping this week at Seize the Birthday is numbers (one or several) courtesy of . I have been clinging to this piece of patterned paper FOREVER and finally broke down and used it.  I just love the font of the numbers.

Happy Thursday crafty friends!  Hope you're having a good week.

The topping this week at Seize the Birthday is blue, pink and yellow, courtesy of Barbara. I like how when they blend together, it gives you a rainbow (learned this from my super smart & crafty friend Jenn Shurkus).  Kept this CAS to let the colours shine!

yellow + black

Hey crafty friends and happy official summer to those in the northern hemisphere! Just a quick hello to go along with this yellow and black card for Color Hues #135.  Went clean, simple and bold for this one. I always want to be bold when I put black and yellow together - lol.  I really like tone on tone but it's not always easy to see in photos.

Thanks to the fabulous Carol for this wonderful challenge and thanks to you for stopping by!

Have a great day,

very vellum

Happy Thursday crafty friends!  Hope you're having a good week.

The topping this week at Seize the Birthday is vellum or acetate.  I have a new daisy chain die from Lawn Fawn and I thought I would layer some vellum daisies on top of the white daisies.  A bit hard to see but it looks cool in person.

sweet treat

Shirley has chosen Sweet Treats for our Seize the Birthday challenge this week. I love this martini die but I've never used it to make an espresso martini so thought it would be a good time to use it - I definitely think of espresso martinis as dessert! The tone on tone cream looks better in real life - especially like it with the embossing in the background.

cute critters

Hey crafty friends! Apologies for missing the last challenge and for not commenting over the last while - had a card done (really!... most people know I'd happily skip a pink card) but life happened.  Happy to be back.

Nance has chosen Feature an Animal for our Seize the Birthday challenge this week. I've had this turtle for a while but not sure I've ever used it, so i thought it was time.

gorgeous gardens

Happy Thursday crafty friends.  Linda has picked our Seize the Birthday topping for this week and she wants us to make a spring garden. I decided to go big & bold with my flowers.  I'm really happy with how the green background makes the pink & orange flowers pop.
