who is counting?

Happy Thursday crafty friends!  Hope you're having a good week.

The topping this week at Seize the Birthday is numbers (one or several) courtesy of . I have been clinging to this piece of patterned paper FOREVER and finally broke down and used it.  I just love the font of the numbers.

Hope you can play along with us! Be sure to stop by the blog to see the brilliant creations from our design team and welcome our new Surprise Party guest Lynda and previous winner Fran.

rad retro

Our Seize the Birthday challenge this week was chosen by Jules and it's retro! Always fun. I love typewriters but don't have a typewriter stamp so borrowed one from a friend. I think of this colour combo and big stripes as being retro so thought it would make a good background. I tried to find a marker that matched the blue paper but nothing was quire right so I paper pieced it.  The sentiment was printed off the computer and then I stamped around it.

Be sure to stop by the blog and give some crafty love to our Surprise Party Guest Karen, previous winner Nance, and the rest of the design team.  Hope you're able to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Fabulous Felt

Hey crafty friends!  Hope you are having a great week.  I have been spending the past few days (along with my hubby) decluttering and purging.  While I'm not known for my exceptional house keeping abilities, it actually felt good to get rid of stuff (most of it going to recycling or getting donated).  It has carried over into my crafting - you'll see some upcoming cards in which I won't be able to identify the patterned paper because it just came out of the scrap folder!

At Seize the Birthday this week, we are playing with felt! Despite the title of this post, felt gives me a little anxiety.  The only felt I had was this pre-made flower from Jillibean Soup.  I'm not sure I love this card - the flower is fabulous but I'm not sure I did it justice.  The threads in the button were brown but I coloured them black to go with the twine.  The dashes were done by hand.

Hope you can play along with us this week!  All the details are on the blog.  Be sure to check out our Surprise Party Guest, Rahmat, and the rest of the DT creations.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.

Bright sunshiny day

Happy Thursday friends! Hope you are having a great week so far. Hard to believe it's June already!

The Seize the Birthday theme this week is sunshine.  I have very few sunshiny things in my abundance of craft supplies (shocking, I know) but managed to find this cute die cut.  Remember, if you play along the theme/topic is always optional.  Birthday theme is the only requirement.

Want to welcome Patti to the team and Mynn as our surprise party guest for the next couple of months. Excited to have them both! Check out all the fabulous DT creations on the blog... all the details on how to play along are there too.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.
