A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA Designer's Choice - Groovy Vintage

Are you finished drooling over all the new papers and stamps A Muse has released? No? That's good. There's a lot to love! I LOVE the vintage font on this sentiment (I may have mentioned that already) and this little groovy partridge (I'm so loving all the fat birds that are featured in the crafting world lately). Went very clean and simple on this... probably because I've been so busy this week with classes and sneak peaks that my mojo is a little bruised.

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse bouche - Holiday Gift

I absolutely LOVE (how many times have I said that this week) the new A Muse cling Holiday Labels. There is this one as well as a similar one which says Deck the Halls. I can't make this all one colour so have put red in the centre and black on the outside. I'm also using my new favourite paper, Currant with another favourite, Platinum Shimmer Couture (which was released a little while ago). Oh and then there is Current Shimmer Couture... I could go on and on.... usually I do, but I won't. Just for your sanity.

I absolutely LOVE the fonts on the new sentiments from A Muse. They are so elegant! Probably my favourite one is this Vintage Merry Christmas. A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse-bouche - Snow Fun

I've decided that I love, love, love snowflake stamps. Funny, cause I'm really not fond of great quantities of snow (that's why I live on the coast!). A Muse already has some fabulous snowflake stamps like floral snowflake, snowflake small, flake trio (which I don't have - gasp!), and lots of flakes bl. Now they have two terrific new ones - one is the large cling stamp Scandinavian Snowflake and the small Snowflake Swirl (which is 'kissed' into the larger snowflake. I'm quite fond of Scandinavian style (maybe because I'm 1/8th Swedish - ha, ha) so I'm in love with this big stamp as well as the little swirly stamp. There is also the new paper Winter Sky (light blue) on this card too!

Hope you are enjoying the amuse-bouche (sneak peaks) and all the A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA festivities! A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse bouche - Sweet Holiday

Sweet is the best word to describe the new papers and stamps being released for A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA this year. The 'sweet' images on this card is from the Ginger Delights cling set. This card also features this new sentiment as well as the new papers Currant (did I mention I LOVE that colour), Squash and Nutmeg. I didn't think the Currant would go with the Squash and Nutmeg but it totally works - don't you think? All of the new goodies are available at your local store now or at A Muse online July 16th.

This is also for Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge 288. It's hard to see in the photo but there is some glitter on the candy.

Probably my favourite thing in this release is the GORGEOUS Currant coloured 8.5 x 11 paper. It is an absolutely delicious colour and I've used it on this card. I've also used the new Evergreen paper too. The tree and the sentiment are new too - aren't they fabulous?

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse-bouche - Halloween Treats

I love this new Jack O'Lanterns set from A Muse. I'm not really in to Hallowe'en but I thinks it's fabulous that you can stamp the pumpkin and then stamp the faces on top! These stamps are part of the new line of rubber cling stamps that A Muse is releasing. I've never used them before and I like them! Especially this totally fun set!

I'll let you in on a little secret - this is actually a recycled take out box. There are Halloween decorations on the other side of this too! Rhiannon made them for us at our A Muse instructor training last year!

All the fabulous new A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA Christmas and Hallowe'en stamps, as well as great new papers, may be at your local stamp store now. If you don't have a local store that carries A Muse, everything will be available online on July 16th.

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse bouche - Hallowe'en

It's the most wonderful time of the year! It's A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA and it's time for the amuse- bouche (tasty morsels of sneak peaks). There are fabulous new Halloween stamps this year and amazing new colours of 8.5 x 11 papers. Featured today are the new stamp Spider Tag and the new colour Onyx. I'm not a fan of spiders but I sure do like this stamp! I also had to use my favourite Hallowe'en sentiment - Wicked! (I have to thank Jenn Shurkus for my love of this stamp). Both Onyx and Orange Crush are now going to be available in 8.5 x 11 sheets. They may be at your stores already!

What you may not be able to see in that photo is the iridescent embossing powder that was used on the white shimmer couture paper.

Today's challenge is all about colour. Since A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA starts on Saturday, I thought I would use the colours from the banner for my challenge this week. The challenge is to use the colours green, blue, orange, and pink on your card. Thanks to Deb and Kerry for playing along with last week's challenge. Random Amusing Challenge 73

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was jammed packed busy with new friends, old friends and girlfriends - so much fun! One very cool thing we did was go to Wild Play Element Park. We had a blast! If you have one near by, I highly recommend it. Be warned - you'll need a pair of gloves and the black section of the course is not for wimps!

Today's challenge is to make a celebratory card. So this is so easy cause there are so many celebrations that we make cards for! I decided on a celebratory card because A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA is coming up (ack! so much prep to do and I'm a bit behind) and to try and lift my spirits. Getting very frustrated with the job search, big sigh. Enough pouting, more about the card. I was inspired by these cards from the super talented Krystie Lee. Random Amusing Challenge 70

Welcome to this week's challenge. Today I'm challenging you to use the kissing technique. I'm sure you all know how to kiss but do you know how to do this stamping technique? I was inspired by Kim Hughes to do this technique (which I've done before but not FOREVER), thanks Kim! If you play along, please leave a comment here and link back to here from your post. Emily asked a question when I posted my last circle card:
"I have that same circle cutter. I have trouble using it though. When I try and cut a circle, I feel like the clear plate moves inside the rim a little, and once my circle is cut out all the way, it's slightly distorted so that I can see the start/stop point fairly obviously (to me at least). Any ideas/suggestions on this? I would REALLY appreciate it!!!"

I don't have any secrets Emily, but I have heard if you use repositionable adhesive to keep the paper down on your glass mat, it helps. I don't have any yet and I've been managing ok so far (only the odd boo-boo). I would suggest, if you feel like it's moving, return it and get a new one.

June? Really? Seriously?

I have to say I'm quite stunned at the turn of the calendar. June marks the beginning of summer and have to say that it barely feels like spring here, let alone summer. It's still pretty cool but the trees and the flowers are definitely indicating that it's June. It also marks 4 months of unemployment for me and I have to confess, I thought I'd be working by now.

So to cheer myself up I'm going to share some random bits of everything with you today:

• Congrats two talented ladies - my close friend Allison Miles and to fellow A Muse instructor Michelle Mathey for being crowned Stamping Royalty by Paper Crafts Magazine! Way to go ladies! I did enter but didn't win. Maybe next year! (I may be updating this as the day goes on, this was the first day people were able to announce the good news so I may hear more yet...).
• A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA is next month and I will be teaching at Crafty Capers and Lasting Impressions. Stay tuned for class details!
• I'm teaching the Stationery Box Class at Scrappers' Anonymous on June 13th. Details are here.
• Summer Solstice is on June 21st and I'm hoping summer will have arrived by then.
• Reminder that it is Father's Day on June 20th. I'll be sending my dad a card but no gift this year, his surprise birthday party was his gift for the whole year! My hubby is a dad too so will most likely do something for him.
• Speaking of my hubby, I've been promising some friends that I would share some of his creations. His hobby is wood working and built us three tables for the living room last year. This is one of them...he is currently working on some more beautiful creations for us. He designed everything himself and I consider myself very fortunate to have these works of art in my house.

• I mentioned my SCS Virtual Stamp Night creations and had to share one with you cause I love how it turned out. It was inspired by this card from Julie Smith and it was for the Watermark Challenge. It is random and really, that's what I'm all about.

Glenda's Random Amusing Challenge #32 and the last of A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA

Hope everyone had a fabulous A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA. It was my first time teaching for this fabulous event - looking forward to more next year! Note to self... try not to travel for my day job right before A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA, makes things a little hectic. My normally organized self (no comments from Victoria Reeve allowed!) was feeling a little disorganized at my classes yesterday but I think everyone had fun! I taught two classes at Crafty Capers - Wonderful Winter Wishes and A Muse Interactive. After some confusion as to when the class actually started... the day went well! In the first class I had Bianca, Alli, Kim, Sheila, Michelle, Harpreet, Lucille, Kathy and Lorri. Unfortunately, we had a a few "escapees" before this photo was taken so in this photo is Lucille (first time - thanks for coming!), Kathy (a regular and my saviour -you're the best), Harpreet (first time - thanks for coming!), Michelle (another regular - great to see you), Alli and Kim (both first-timers and celebrities - more in a moment!)


Found out that Alli and Kim are both celebrities! Alli Miles is an illustrator for Paper Trey Ink. Kim Teasdale is a member of the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen and member of the Clear Dollar Stamps Design Team. Hope you had fun ladies - it was great to have you there. In the second class, where we made some fun interactive cards, were Alli (missing from the photo), Loretta, Sue, Kathy, Joanne, Lorri (thanks for your help!) and Victoria (owner of Crafty Capers, recovering from surgery - get better soon!). All of these ladies have been in my classes before (except Victoria) so thanks for coming again - hope you enjoyed it! Crafty Capers is moving to a new location soon - be sure to check it out!


Now on to the Random Amusing Challenge for the week. With the fabulous new A Muse holiday stamps you've scooped up, make a brown and blue holiday card. Here is my serving of amuse-bouche for today. It is all about the kids today. Love this juggling snowman – how fabulous is that! Got a little carried away with the glitter – seems to be a glittery week as we were glittering (is that a word?) in both classes this week. Have to have glitter or bling on card! winter critters amuse-bouche

I’m using one of my favourite critters, Penguin on Skis. I love penguins and there are a couple of penguins (the other one is ice fishing – so adorable) in this release so I’m pretty happy. Surprise, surprise… I am using my new border punch. Thought it was perfect for snow!

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great weekend and took part in some A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA festivities at a store near you! I have five classes this week so check out my class schedule and sign up for some A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA fun!

First card today is for my weekly challenge. This time I want you to pull out your border punch and have some fun with it! I just picked up this great EK Success border punch and I LOVE it! You may notice I have used it in both cards today… and you’ll see it again this week. I’m slightly obsessed! If possible, please use a little A Muse on your card. If you upload to Splitcoast Stampers, use the keyword GRAC31. Thanks to Kerry and Cheiron (2 in 1) for playing along last week!

Now for today’s serving of amuse-bouche….with two new stamps and the new cranberry note cards. I’m sure I have mentioned how much I love red so these cranberry notes are right up my alley. Karl and I often go skating in the winter and I did a lot when I was a kid so I’m quite fond of the skates too. Check out A Muse News and all the other Muses' blogs for more amuse-bouche!

Here are a few more photos from my trip to Abu Dhabi. This is the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque or “Grand Mosque”. I was only able to walk around outside as I was there in the evening and non-Muslims are only allowed to go in between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. It is absolutely enormous and quite stunning. The colours on the pillars are amazing and they are done using in-lay, not paint. There is some construction going on there as the grounds surrounding the mosque are not complete. If you are ever in Abu Dhabi, I highly recommend it.
