A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA Designer's Choice - Groovy Vintage

Are you finished drooling over all the new papers and stamps A Muse has released? No? That's good. There's a lot to love! I LOVE the vintage font on this sentiment (I may have mentioned that already) and this little groovy partridge (I'm so loving all the fat birds that are featured in the crafting world lately). Went very clean and simple on this... probably because I've been so busy this week with classes and sneak peaks that my mojo is a little bruised.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you've enjoyed all the cards I've had this week. Please be sure to check out all the Muses' blogs as well as the A Muse News.

Ok, so I wasn't going to mention anything about it being my birthday today but I have to give a huge shout out to my hubby Karl for taking the day off work today to spend the day with me. Love that guy.

Enjoy your weekend. Glenda

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse bouche - Holiday Gift

I absolutely LOVE (how many times have I said that this week) the new A Muse cling Holiday Labels. There is this one as well as a similar one which says Deck the Halls. I can't make this all one colour so have put red in the centre and black on the outside. I'm also using my new favourite paper, Currant with another favourite, Platinum Shimmer Couture (which was released a little while ago). Oh and then there is Current Shimmer Couture... I could go on and on.... usually I do, but I won't. Just for your sanity.

There are still some spots left for Sunday's classes at Crafty Capers so be sure to check here for all the details.

Hope you are enjoying the fabulous new images and the A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA! (Ok, I won't miss changing all the colours on those letters in Blogger when this is finished). Thanks for stopping by, I always appreciate it.

Just a note - I will be celebrating my 300th blog post soon and will be giving away some goodies. Be sure to keep checking back.

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse bouche - Vintage Elegance

I absolutely LOVE the fonts on the new sentiments from A Muse. They are so elegant! Probably my favourite one is this Vintage Merry Christmas. In addition, even though this tree is bare, it looks very elegant. Be sure to check the other Muses blogs as well as the A Muse News for more festive morsels of amuse-bouche (a.k.a sneak peaks!).

Hope you've had a chance to join in the A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA fun. I've got a few more classes scheduled and you can check out all the details here. All of the new stamps and papers are in your local stamp store now and will be online July 16th (which a day that is near and dear to my heart - *wink* - do you know why?).

Oh yes, a bit of exciting news.... I was chosen as one of the top 5 for CAS-tastic Challenge 11 for this card. Thanks to all of the talented ladies at CAS-tastic for the shout out and for the constant inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by. If you are looking for something to do, my challenge from last week is still running!

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse-bouche - Snow Fun

I've decided that I love, love, love snowflake stamps. Funny, cause I'm really not fond of great quantities of snow (that's why I live on the coast!). A Muse already has some fabulous snowflake stamps like floral snowflake, snowflake small, flake trio (which I don't have - gasp!), and lots of flakes bl. Now they have two terrific new ones - one is the large cling stamp Scandinavian Snowflake and the small Snowflake Swirl (which is 'kissed' into the larger snowflake. I'm quite fond of Scandinavian style (maybe because I'm 1/8th Swedish - ha, ha) so I'm in love with this big stamp as well as the little swirly stamp. There is also the new paper Winter Sky (light blue) on this card too!

Hope you are enjoying the amuse-bouche (sneak peaks) and all the A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA festivities! Had a great time last night at Lasting Impressions with Deanne (my bestie!), Candace, Sharon, Gloria, Joyce, Linda and Melanie last night, making some fabulous packages. I am teaching a card class at Lasting Impressions on Thursday night (there might be one spot left) and two classes at Crafty Capers on Sunday. My schedule is here.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check out the A Muse News and the other Muses blogs for more fabulous sneak peaks. The new stamps and papers are in your local store now and online on July 16th.

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse bouche - Sweet Holiday

Sweet is the best word to describe the new papers and stamps being released for A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA this year. The 'sweet' images on this card is from the Ginger Delights cling set. This card also features this new sentiment as well as the new papers Currant (did I mention I LOVE that colour), Squash and Nutmeg. I didn't think the Currant would go with the Squash and Nutmeg but it totally works - don't you think? All of the new goodies are available at your local store now or at A Muse online July 16th.

This is also for Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge 288. It's hard to see in the photo but there is some glitter on the candy.

There are still a few more classes this week - check them out! Anyone who takes a class from me during A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA gets their name into a draw for an A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA tote bag.

Thanks for stopping by, I always appreciate it.

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse-bouche - Classic Christmas

Probably my favourite thing in this release is the GORGEOUS Currant coloured 8.5 x 11 paper. It is an absolutely delicious colour and I've used it on this card. I've also used the new Evergreen paper too. The tree and the sentiment are new too - aren't they fabulous?
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the A Muse News and the other Muses blogs for more deliciousness.

Thanks to the great ladies - Joyce, Linda, Gloria, Jan Louise, Brenda and Elaine - for a terrific class at Lasting Impressions Stamps. I was feeling a little incompetent at first (it was one of those days) but they humoured me and, in the end, a good time was had by all (I think!). There are more classes this week in Victoria and Nanaimo so check out my schedule. ETA - if you take one of my A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA classes, your name goes in the draw for a fabulous A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA tote bag.

Thanks too for everyone who participated in the PJ Party last night! It was a blast! Be sure to check in the Lounge to see if you won a prize!

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse-bouche - Halloween Treats

I love this new Jack O'Lanterns set from A Muse. I'm not really in to Hallowe'en but I thinks it's fabulous that you can stamp the pumpkin and then stamp the faces on top! These stamps are part of the new line of rubber cling stamps that A Muse is releasing. I've never used them before and I like them! Especially this totally fun set!

I'll let you in on a little secret - this is actually a recycled take out box. There are Halloween decorations on the other side of this too! Rhiannon made them for us at our A Muse instructor training last year!

All the fabulous new A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA Christmas and Hallowe'en stamps, as well as great new papers, may be at your local stamp store now. If you don't have a local store that carries A Muse, everything will be available online on July 16th.

Hope you are enjoying the amuse-bouche. These fabulous morsels will be happening here, on the A Muse News blog and on the other Muses blogs (listed on the bottom left side) till July 17th, so keep checking back!

Thanks for stopping by. If you weren't able to play along with the A Muse Lounge PJ Party Challenges earlier tonight, you still have time to play and win! Entries have to be posted to the Lounge by 8pm Pacific on July 11th. I'm teaching at Lasting Impressions tomorrow and Monday (and there might be a few spots left) so call and sign up!

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA amuse bouche - Hallowe'en

It's the most wonderful time of the year! It's A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA and it's time for the amuse- bouche (tasty morsels of sneak peaks). There are fabulous new Halloween stamps this year and amazing new colours of 8.5 x 11 papers. Featured today are the new stamp Spider Tag and the new colour Onyx. I'm not a fan of spiders but I sure do like this stamp! I also had to use my favourite Hallowe'en sentiment - Wicked! (I have to thank Jenn Shurkus for my love of this stamp). Both Onyx and Orange Crush are now going to be available in 8.5 x 11 sheets. They may be at your stores already!

What you may not be able to see in that photo is the iridescent embossing powder that was used on the white shimmer couture paper.

Be sure to check out the
A Muse News and the other Muses blogs for more delicious amuse-bouche. The goodness continues all week!

Random Amusing Challenge 65 and Designer's Choice amuse bouche

Today is the last day of the A Muse Everything's Rosy amuse bouche which means all these fabulous new floral stamps and elegant sentiments will be available online tomorrow (and in your local stores now!). I don't know about you but the creations from the Muses this past week have been amazing. I am so inspired by the whole team, both the designers and the instructors - I'm so honoured to be a part of this team.

On that note, I was so inspired Jill's card that I decided to make a similar one and use it for the Designer's Choice day and my Random Amusing Challenge this week. Vintage is definitely not my normal style but this seems to have turn out well. My challenge this week is to put a butterfly on your card (stamp it, punch it, draw it, die cut it, cut it out of patterned paper, whatever). A Muse is releasing some fabulous butterfly stamps so you should run out, buy them and use it on a card. If you play along, please leave a comment here. If you upload to an online gallery, please use the keyword GRAC65. Thanks to Deb, Victoria and Sonja (first time - welcome!) for playing along last week. I'm writing this up in advance so if you've played along at the last minute, your link may not be here!

Be sure to check out my class schedule for my upcoming classes!

As always, thanks for stopping by. I always appreciate it. Hope you have a chance to play along. Glenda

Everything's Rosy - Flittery Fun

There's a lotta lotta fun going on today. The new A Muse butterfly stamps are amazing! So here's a little story - last weekend at my crafty retreat, there was a time where everyone went up and picked up a brown bag with a treat in it. Well my treat was the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Nested Butterfly Dies (I just found out they are retired). I was so excited... and this is the result.

What you can't really see on the first card is that I stamped on the green and brown butterflies too. In the second card, I embossed with some iridescent power so the black butterfly is all sparkly! I love these cards and will definitely be making more! I was inspired to make these cards by some of the ones I made last weekend (thanks to Julie and the Making Memories gals). Julie's circle card inspired me to do the butterfly shaped card. I didn't post a picture of it but we made a 3D butterfly card in the Making Memories class.

ETA - Penny asked a question about the fold on the second card. I scored the green butterfly along the left hand side. By scoring the back piece, the fold is only visible from the back of the card.

Be sure to check out the A Muse News and the other Muses blogs (listed down on your left) for more Everything's Rosy amuse-bouche. Also, be sure to comment on Cuppa Time with Julie for a chance to win a fabulous A Muse mug (I have to get me one of those even though they are pink). Be sure to read this post about all the stuff you can win!

There is only one more day of Everything's Rosy amuse-bouche but it will be fabulous. I know once you get your hands on these fabulous stamps, you will love them and make some fabulous creations with them. The stamps may be in your local store now and they will be available online May 4th.

Tonight's supper was Spicy Thai-style Prawn Soup - very yummy! I used sambal oelek for the Asian chili sauce and subbed in green peppers and celery for the mushrooms (mushroom-loathing hubby).

Have a great weekend and play along with my challenge if you have the chance. Thanks for stopping by. Glenda

Everything's Rosy - Everyday Elegance

Ooooh, more fabulous florals today. Here are a couple of tasty amuse bouche morsels for you today. This stamp is called 'Queen Anne's Lace' and I've done a couple of cards - one clean and simple and one with a little more somin' somin'. The font on the new sentiments is so elegant and I love that A Muse now has a 'Bonjour'. I speak a wee bit of French so will love using these new French sentiment. The second one is also for the 2 Sketches 4 You this week.

The Muses are blogging more floral fabulousness (I know that isn't a word but it's totally appropriate) and of course, the A Muse News always has something for you too. I rarely blow my own horn but I am super excited about the two cards I have for you tomorrow. Last weekend, I happened to unexpectedly receive some items that matched PERFECTLY with the stamps featured tomorrow. The Fates were working in my favour and I LOVE the results (feeling a wee bit brilliant). Ok, enough about me. All I have to say is you better check back tomorrow!

Another couple of recipes I tried out recently during my period of not-so-blissful domesticity - Jalapeno Jack Cheese Soup (oh my, SO yummy) and Grilled Chicken Breast with Garlic-Laced Brown Mushrooms (quick, easy and tasty - and perfect for when my mushroom loathing hubby is out of town).

Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by. Be sure to play along with
my challenge if you have a few spare minutes. Glenda

Everything's Rosy - Floral Friendship

I have a confession - this is not the first card I made for today's amuse-bouche. Just wasn't happy with the first one so went in a completely different direction. I am uber-happy with this one! Another confession - this isn't my original idea. I was inspired by this card from Elena - thank you! The fabulous thing about this card (other than the fantastic 'daisy duo' and the fantastic font of this new sentiment) is it only took about five minutes! Love quick and elegant cards. I love doing doodle lines too but seem to forget to do them so thanks to Elena for reminding me! I kept wanting to put something else on this card but smacked my hands and remembered the mantra "think simple, think A Muse". This card is also for this week's Clean and Simple Challenge (Happy Birthday Boo! - use orange on your card) at Splitcoast Stampers.

Be sure to keep checking the A Muse News (be sure to check this post about all the FREE STUFF you can WIN!) and the other Muse's blogs for more tasty amuse-bouche. I may have said this already but I am so in love with the Everything's Rosy release and am having so much fun designing with it. Makes my life easy when the stamps are so beautiful! I have more beautiful things to show you over the next few days.

If you need something to do, check out my challenge. Hope all is well in your world and thanks for stopping by. Glenda

Everything's Rosy - Beautiful Birthdays

I love flowers - real ones, stamped ones - so I'm loving A Muse's Everything's Rosy release. There are so many great flowers, some of them are a bit bigger than usual and they are so easy to design with. The sentiments are in a beautiful font, so elegant. Again, I am pulling from Go To Sketches for this design - this one is on page 86. I'm also throwing this in for the Our Creative Corner Blooming Blossoms Challenge.

I had to use this stamp again cause I love it. I use the sketch from the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch challenge today. Have to say this may be one of my favourite stamps ever!

Happy 9th Birthday A Muse!

Happy 9th Birthday A Muse! Don't worry - I'm not going to start singing. No one wants to hear that! As part of the birthday celebrations, A Muse is releasing the Happy clear set. It has this great flag line as well as several other words you can pair with happy. Also, because it's a clear set, you can curve your sentiments (and your flag line), like I did here!

The party isn't over! Keep checking out my blog, the A Muse News (where you can WIN stuff!) and the other Muse's blogs for sneak peaks of the Everything's Rosy Release! The fun continues until Monday!

Welcome to the Party - Clearly Vintage

A Muse is brilliant! As part of the 9th birthday celebration, they have come out with a Vintage Clear stamp set which has some retired 'oldies but goodies'. Most of the stamps in the set are from before my time with A Muse so they are all new to me! Hee, hee - I'm rubbing my hands together with an evil grin on my face - new toys to play with! Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

I have a confession - I got a sneak peak of Jill's card and used it as inspiration for my card. Thanks Jill! I also used the sketch on page 102 of Go To Sketches. I'm loving this magazine - I have a lot of stuff to work on right now and it definitely is a great place to start for designing. I don't often buy magazines cause they can be pricey but this one was definitely worth the investment!

Be sure to keep checking back here all week as I'll have more eye candy. A Muse News and the other Muses will have treats for you too!

Thanks for stopping by. I always appreciate it. If you have some spare time, play along with my challenge!

amuse bouche Sea of Love V

It's treat day! Today's focus is packaging. I know scallops aren't candies but they are very delicious! My photo of the inside didn't work but it's similar to the example here. Not my best creation of the week and there is way too much pink on this for my liking! There are more amuse bouche on the A Muse News blog and the other Muse's blogs. Be sure to check them out! This is such a fabulous release - love all the new ocean creatures!

GRAC50 and amuse bouche Sea of Love IV

I'm going to combine my challenge this week with today's amuse bouche. The challenge is to stamp your sentiment over your image(s). Corals are my favourite sea creatures so I had to use this fabulous new stamp on my card. They do so much for the ocean ecosystem...too bad they are so susceptible to damage. Hope you get a chance to play along this week. If you upload to Splitcoast Stampers, use the keyword GRAC50. Wow - 50 challenges - hard to believe. Maybe I'll do some blog candy for #52.... hmmm.....

Check out the A Muse News and the Muse's blogs for more servings of amuse bouche. Have a great week. I'm back to work...:(. Will be getting crafty though... :) ... lots to do for my upcoming classes.

Take care and hope you are having a wonderful 2010 so far.

amuse bouche - Sea of Love III

Did I mention how much I love these images? I love the ocean so all of these images are right up my alley. Had fun with this seahorse but I questioned my sanity when I was cutting out the third one. Have I mentioned how much I dislike cutting? Be sure to check out the A Muse News and the other Muse's blogs for more ocean fun.

So I've had my Scor Bug forever but never use it. I was inspired to use it by this card from Alli Miles. I wanted some texture on my water so I thought it would work. I think it worked well...

Have a great day. I head back to work on Monday... ugh... I need another week off!
