Seize the twine!

Happy Thursday!  Hope you are having a great week.  We are loving the hot temperatures on the West Coast over the past little while.  It's rare for us to be hovering around 30 Celsius (and I love the heat) so I have been outside whenever life allows!

Time for another Seize the Birthday challenge!  The topping/option this week is string or twine. I was able to sneak a wee bit on to my card.  I had to whip this masculine card up "in a hurry".  Ha ha… I never have masculine cards around and needed one … and quickly… and of course it took FOREVER!  Murphy's law….

Be sure to check out the blog for all the details and give some love to the rest of the Design Team!  Hope you get a chance to play along this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day and a fabulous weekend.

Let's Party

Happy Thursday and happy summer (or winter)!  We are enjoying some amazing weather here…. loving the warmth, the sunshine and the long days… and some relaxation here and there.

Welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge!  As always, the theme is "anything goes" and the topping/option this week is "stars and stripes".  I opted out of the topping (which is totally ok if you play along!).

Hope you can play along this week.  All of the details are on the blog.  Be sure to swing by there and check out all of the fabulous designs by the rest of the team.

Happy belated Canada Day to my fellow Canadians and happy Independence Day to my American friends…. and happy "almost weekend" to everyone else!

wish big

Happy Thursday!  Hope all is well in your world.  I am *mostly* done school for the summer (a few things to do this summer but essentially finished the first year of my Masters - woot!) but am now just crazy busy catching up on life.  Hope the weather is great where you are… it has been terrific here and will happily take any more heat Mother Nature will throw my way.

It is Seize the Birthday time again… "anything goes" as usual and no toppings/options this week.  I am crafting so rarely these days and I needed some inspiration, so I went to our sister challenge Seize the Sketch and used Sketch #17.

Hope you can play along with us this week.  Be sure to check out the blog for all the details and the fabulous creations by the rest of the team.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a terrific day and a wonderful weekend.

Sketchy birthday

Happy Thursday!  Hope you are enjoying spring (or fall) and getting some time outside.  I just had an extra long weekend (it was Victoria Day on Monday and took Friday off) and it was a perfection combination of productivity and relaxation!

Welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge!  As always, it is 'anything goes' and the topping this week is 'tags'.  I did my card last minute (which is not unusual) and the tag was just not speaking to me so I went super CAS.

Be sure to check out the blog for all the details and check out the amazing designs from the rest of the team!  Leave them some crafty love!

I am also playing along with Lesley's Sketch Challenge:

Seize the Birthday

Happy Thursday!  Apologies for being scarce lately.  Life just caught up to me. Even with a couple of weeks off school at the end of last month… things are still crazy busy.  Spring has fully arrived here though so all is well.  Always nice to have warmer temperatures and longer days.

Time for another Seize the Birthday Challenge! As always, it is 'anything goes' and there are no toppings/options this week.  I haven't had much mojo lately, nor time to create but managed to whip this up the other night.  Hope you like it!  I'm using the only shade of pink that really works for me and that is coral.  ;)

Hope you have a change to play along!  All the details are on the blog.  Be sure to stop by and see the rest of the fabulous creations by the design team!

Cheers!

Happy Thursday!  Hope you are having a great week.  I have a couple of weeks off of school but am busy catching up on life!  It's been productive but still have a long list.  Maybe I can get a few things done before class starts up again on Monday.

It's time for another Seize the Birthday challenge!  It is 'anything goes' as usual and the topping/option this week is button/rhinestones. I just managed a few gems/rhinestones.  Some of my favourites on this card - some red, a martini and some washi tape. :)

Hope you get a chance to play along!  All the details are on the blog.  Be sure to stop by, check out the design teams' fabulous creations and give them some love!

Seize the… stitching

Happy Thursday!  I really should be working on my research paper right now but my bi-weekly blogging calls!  A welcome distraction from typing, reading and scratching my noggin, thinking "what the ???".

Time for another Seize the Birthday challenge!  As usual, "anything goes" and the topping this week is "faux stitching".  I have this great tag die with the faux stitching built right in so thought it would be perfect for this challenge.  Way easier than trying to draw in faux stitching (although I do like doing that - think it looks cool, when I manage to do it right! hee hee).

Would love it if you could play along!  You have two weeks to play and all the details are on the blog.  While you are there, be sure to check out the amazing creations by the rest of the team and give them some love!

Today is the day...

Happy last Thursday in February!  WHAAAATTTT?? Crazy… this year is flying by already.  Hope things are going well for you.  I'm impatiently waiting for some snow to melt.  I moved to the coast to avoid it and we got a bit on the weekend.  I'm just happy I don't have to drive it in much (I'm ok - just don't trust other people!  hee, hee)… however walking to work with snowy sidewalks is not much fun either. Oh well, can't complain too much… we generally have glorious weather here (I'll take rainy warm winters over snowy cold winters any day).

Ok… enough babbling… time to get on with the Seize the Birthday challenge for this week.  As usually it is "anything goes" and this week is "topping free" (so no bonus option).  Stayed pretty CAS with this one but put a few fun elements on.  Absolutely love this striped paper.

We would love it if you could play along with us!  You have two weeks to play along... all the rest of details are on the blog.  Be sure to head on over there to see the rest of the fabulous creations by the amazing design team!

Celebrate the love!

Happy Thursday!  Time for another Seize the Birthday challenge!  As always, the challenge is 'anything goes Birthday'.  This week, the topping/option is hearts/love. This is perfect for me as my hubby's birthday is coming up!  We don't 'do' Valentine's Day at our house (totally ok with me) so Iavoided the reds & pinks so common this time of year! (hard for me to avoid red but it can be done!).

All the details are on the blog!  Be sure to check out the rest of the fabulous creations by the rest of the design team.

Seize the… Chevrons!

Happy Thursday crafty friends!  Hope you are doing well… hard to believe January is finished!  I am back to work, back to school, back to busy.  However, got a crafty weekend away with some friends at Wyldflower B&B a few weeks ago so got a bunch of cards and some scrapbooking done (actually completed some scrapbooking projects - shocking!  That rarely happens!).  By the way, if you live on the west coast of BC - be sure it check it out!  Amazing place!

It's time for another Seize the Birthday Challenge!  As usual, it is 'anything goes' but there often there is a topping or "option".  This week it is chevrons.

29 again?

Happy 2014 crafty friends!  Hope the new year is treating you well so far.  I am nearing the end of three weeks off  :( but it has been enjoyable.  Hubby and I went to more tropical climes over Christmas and just relaxed… it was amazing. Of course, my 'to do' list for the holidays is no where near being done.  No surprise there.

It's time for another Seize the Birthday Challenge!  The 'toppings' (extra) option this week is 'Numbers'.  A male friend of ours turned 30 on December 31st so the card I made for him works perfectly for this challenge!

A special birthday shout out this week to fellow DT member Sheri!  Happy Birthday Sheri

Hope you can play along with Seize the Birthday this week!  All the details are on the blog.  There are also some special announcements over there too!

Let's Celebrate!

Happy Thursday!  Apologies for how long it has been since my last post.  Life has been a bit hectic but I am happy to report that I am officially finished my first semester of grad school!  It was challenging but definitely worth it and I learned a lot!  Currently enjoying three weeks off work and school… life is good!

It is time for another Seize the Birthday Challenge!  My mojo is quite lacking these days (I haven't even made any Christmas cards) so this is super CAS and is my go-to colour combo!

Giving a big shout out and birthday wishes to fellow DT member JoAnn Burnham!  It is her birthday on Saturday!  Be sure to hop over to her blog and give her some birthday love!

Hope you can play along with Seize the Birthday this week!  Check the blog for all the details. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

All the best to you, your friends and family, during this holiday season, whatever you are celebrating.

Seize the pink birthday

Happy Thursday and welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge!

Today, we are celebrating!  Our DT member Jenny gave birth to twin girls recently and we have designed a special challenge this week.  The challenge is to use pink and use two of something.  Pink is always a challenge for me so I stuck pretty CAS.

I have 2 ribbons and 2 staples… ;)  Believe it or not, that background paper looked pink when I was making the card but turned out pretty red in the photo.  Oh, tricks of the light.

A big congrats to Jenny and her husband!  Hope you can celebrate with us and play along this week.  All the details are on the blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

So totally fabulous

By now, you have likely heard that the fabulous Cath Evaldson is leaving Moxie Fab World.   Big pouty sad face :( . So myself and a couple hundred (!!!) other crafty bloggers have got together to pay tribute to her.  If you are following the very long list of participants, you will have hopped here from Kathi Rerek's blog.

I always got a lot of inspiration from Cath on Moxie Fab World, be it from the Tuesday Trigger, Trend Watch or Oh My Moxie Fab.  She was always a reliable source for trendy and classic inspiration.  In April 2011, I was lucky enough to be Moxie Fabber of the Week (you can read all about my reaction here).  I felt like that was huge recognition for me and really appreciate Cath for that acknowledgment.  I was lucky enough to meet Cath when I was at CHA earlier this year… so great to finally meet the fabulous person behind the fabulous inspiration.

Susan R. Opel, myself and Cath Evaldson

I'm in the middle of a crazy amount of homework right now but managed to whip up this 5 minute quickie to honour Cath.

Not sure what else I can say to Cath other than thank you so much for everything... and all the best to you in the future.  You will be missed. xoxoxo

Next on the hop is Heather Campbell!  A big thanks to all of the organizers & admins of the blog hop too - Keren Baker, Taheerah Atchia and Virginia Lu.  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a Moxie fab weekend.
