Happy challenge day crafty friends! Lucky me - it's my turn to pick the topping at Seize the Birthday. I was trying to be creative so I came up with a tic tac toe board. Pick a straight line in any direction (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) and incorporate those three things on your card.
I went diagonal from lower left to top right. Not a surprise as I love CAS and slim line. I did a mini slim line for this card. These dies were a recent purchase and I thought the tall present would go really well on a slimline card. The colours on the gift were made using Distress Oxides.25 July 2024

fantastic fruit
Happy Thursday crafty friends and welcome to July! We are finally getting some hot weather here and I love it. It's time for another Seize the Birthday challenge and this time, Colleen has picked fruits for the theme. I don't have a lot of fruit stuff so I decided to have them be more of an accessory instead of the main part. I love these fun Happy Hour drink dies. I couldn't find the ice cube die from that set so had to improvise with the negative of a mesh die from another set (which I can't remember the name of). The drink and fruit colours are courtesy of Distress Oxides.

sensational stars
Happy Thursday crafty friends. So hard to believe it's the end of June! It seemed to fly by for me. It's time for another Seize the Birthday challenge and this time, Cathy has picked stars for the theme. I recently got this die set and decided that would be the perfect way to add a star to my card. I also recently got some Distress Mica sprays so I used those too.

double stencilling
Happy June crafty friends! We have a fun challenge at Seize the Birthday this week thanks to Barbara. It's double stencilling... I was nervous to try it (because I hadn't done it before) but it ended up turning out really well. If you want a demo, check out this video. I realized that a more open stencil was best underneath and a smaller/finer/more detailed one was best over top. The bottom stencil is from the Hero Arts Petals duo and the upper one is Tim Holtz Splash.

magnificent metallics
Ashwini has picked the theme of metallics for our Seize the Birthday challenge this time around. My first card was completely different and didn't I didn't love it. So I went back to one of my standby techniques - alcohol inks. Much happier with this.

beachy
Hope everyone is having a great May so far! Life is a little hectic as a started a new job on Monday but I'm looking forward to the new challenge. I have a few new crafty goodies too (not used on this week's card) and hope to have some time to use them soon.
Our beach theme for Seize the Birthday this week was picked by Vicki. I dug out an old wood mounted surf board stamp and did some watercolouring with Distress Oxides. The background is blended Distress Oxides. We took surf lessons when we were in Costa Rica late last year - so fun but really exhausting!

off the edge
It's time for another Seize the Birthday challenge and Shirley has chosen off the edge. I love this challenge and decided to do a tipsy martini off the edge. There is a bit of sparkle (Wink of Stella) on the martini but it's hard to see.

yellow & pink
Happy weekend friends! A friend of mine recently had surgery so thought I would use the latest combo from Color Hues to make a card for her. I used the very 'high tech' tool of toilet paper rolls to make the hearts. LOL! I have yet to figure out why I so often do colour challenges with pink when I don't even really like pink.

green & blue
Happy Thursday and welcome another Seize the Birthday Challenge! Our challenge this week is chosen by the wonderful and talented Nancy and it is green plus one other colour. I love green so this was an easy one for me. I particularly like green and blue together. However, I did so many different green and blue cards and none of them quite worked for me. Finally came up with this one that I'm mostly ok with - lol.

fabulous florals
It's spring time in the Northern Hemisphere so at Seize the Birthday, we are doing spring florals, courtesy of Linda. No surprise, I went very clean and simple. Used some watercolour pencils and my Tim Holtz water brush.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Always appreciate your comments.
Have a great day,
Glenda

dynamic duo
This week at Seize the Birthday we have a terrific challenge courtesy of Jules. We are creating cards wtih matching tags. I used the cone flower stamp from one of my favourite stamp sets from Taylored Expressions & Lori Craig, Field Notes.

regal red
I was over the moon when I saw JoAnn's theme for this week's Seize the Birthday challenge. It's RED! It's my favourite colour. I went very CAS so the red would shine - the splotches remind me a bit of flower petals. The sentiment is one I love but haven't used it for a while. Hope you like what I've come up with.

Colour Hues - Lilac & Mint
For some reason, I seem to gravitate towards colour challenges that will REALLY challenge me. This time it's lilac and mint from Colour Hues. I don't have any trouble with the darker purples and greens but this pastel combo is challenging! Used some Distress Oxides to make a smooshed watercolour background, and then stayed CAS with the rest ... hope you like it.

sassy splatter
Happy Thursday crafty friends! It's my turn to pick the theme at Seize the Birthday. I went for something fun and easy - splatter! I decided to do some rainbow splatter with my Distress Oxide inks. I was having trouble figuring out how to finish the card (there were a few different starts) and was then inspired by this card by my friend Cheiron.
