Smile, it's Friday!

Well, it's not quite Friday here but close enough!  I'm smiling cause it's almost the weekend.  It's seemed like a long week with work being really busy and the weather being pretty ugly.  Bits of snow, plenty of rain and the strongest of winds.... was really happy to walk home in the sunshine late this afternoon though.... and it's great to see the flowers blooming here.  :)

A quick little card to play along with the colours over at the Hero Arts Contest this month.  They aren't exact but pretty close... using up some scraps in this one so that is always a bonus.  It also works for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge 44: Easy as 1, 2, 3 - Use a pattern, an image and a sentiment.

Random question... do you know a lot of people with birthdays this week?  At last count I know of 12 people between the 10th and the 16th (except none today, weird).... so count back 40 weeks from now... hmmm, frisky spring I guess!  Hee, hee.

Hope you had a great week and a fabulous weekend.  Looking forward to hooking up with some friends who moved away last year... they are back in town for a couple of days.  Miss hanging with them so really looking forward to it.
Thanks for stopping by,
Glenda

I made this card for my friend Cheiron, who has been very inspirational to me lately.  She loves rainbows and washi tape, so this is what I came up with.

Scrambling for inchies

Wacky title I know... will explain momentarily....

Cheiron told me the Hero Arts Flickr Group hosts a 90 minute scramble challenge every Saturday.  Decided I would play along today.  90 minutes to create and post a card... no problem.  The challenge?  Use 3 inchies on the card (1" x 1" squares).  Ack! That is a problem. I've mentioned my dislike of repeated elements before... getting the lines straight, lining them up on the card.  Thank goodness for a 1 inch square punch. Cutting a 1 1/8" with my trimmer was a little more difficult.  To make this a little easier, I went to one of my go-to colour combos - red, white, black and kraft.  Always a winner.  Anyway, enough babbling... here's the card...

I was inspired by this card from Sue, who was hosting the challenge.  Just realized I can throw this in the Hero Arts Flower contest for March too. Always love doubling up on the challenges.

Hope you are having a fabulous Saturday.  Thanks for stopping by.

Winter smiles

Blue ranks just above pink in colours I don't use very much/not that fond of.  To challenge myself, I thought I would play along with the Cure for the Winter Blues Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, which says to use navy in an innovative way.  This also works for the Hero Arts Flower Challenge this month.  So my cure for the winter blues is a winter smile.  :)  Smiling right now cause the winter snow we got on Sunday was just a skiff and melted right away!

I don't know if this is innovative way to use navy... just decided to let it speak for itself and then added a little whisper of red (because I can).  No matter what I did with that red floss, it wouldn't stay where I put it so I left it skewed (because I can).

Hope you enjoy your upcoming weekend.  I know I'm looking forward to it.  Mine is lasting three days so that is another reason to smile. :D
Thanks for stopping by.  Always appreciate it.

Huge thanks to my crafty friends

Just a quick post for the latest Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge (see the inspiration photo below). Was inspired by the colours, the ocean theme and the wood/distressed texture.

I'm feeling so grateful right now.  I spent last evening with my crafty girls... lots of laughs and a little bit of crafting as we welcomed a new person into our crazy group.  It is a wonderful thing to have such a great group of inspirational women to craft with.  I'm also lucky enough to have far away crafty friends  (some I know, some I know 'virtually') to exchange laughs and inspiration with.  Thanks to all you fabulous ladies... you know who you are.  HUGS!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.  I really appreciate all of you also!
