Random Amusing Challenge #100

Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

It is challenge #100 and it's time to celebrate! We are going to celebrate in a big way. Several of my fabulous, crafty blogging friends are playing along with my challenge so please be sure to hop over to all of their blogs and give them some love! In addition, there is major blog candy!

The challenge is to use red on your card. You had to know that was going to happen as red is my favourite colour! I trust you'll have no problem with it. Use as much or as little of it as you like. Incorporate it by using paper, ink, ribbon, embellishments, whatever you like! You must play along with the challenge in order to be eligible to win the blog candy. If you play along, please leave a comment here and please link back here from your post. I've set up a link tool so please put your entry in there! If you upload to an online gallery, please use the keyword GRAC100. You have until midnight Pacific Time on January 23rd to play along and you can play along as many times as you like. The winner will be randomly chosen and announced on January 24th. Thanks to Erica and Tina for playing along last week.

Here are all of my fabulous friends who are playing along with my challenge. Please head over and give them some love. Thanks so much to all of these fabulous ladies for playing! Feel so lucky to have a great group of talented ladies joining me today.
Here's my card...

Here's a look at the blog candy. It includes A Muse paper and stamps, Flower Soft, Washi Tape, some of the goodies (from Nikki Sivils, Dear Lizzy, Studio Calico and more) I received from Paper Crafts (I wanted to share the wealth!) and other random bits from my craft room!

Random Amusing Challenge 85

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend and a great World Card Making Day. My apologies for the late post... I have been busy prepping for my class at Scrapbook Parade tonight.

The challenge for this week is to do some stitching/sewing on your card or project. It can be real or faux, whatever strikes your fancy. I actually managed to clear off a large enough corner on my craft table to leave my sewing machine set up so I have real stitching on my card. If you upload to an online gallery, please use the keyword GRAC85. If you play along, please leave a comment here and link back to this post from your post. Thanks to Martha, Dori, Katie and one of my crafty girls Jo for playing along last week!

On to the winner of my World Card Making Day Blog Candy. Random. org picked...
Comment #6 is Susie!!! Susie - I will send you an email soon and get your snail mail address.

Have a great week and hope you have time to play along with my challenge! Thanks for stopping by.

Happy World Card Making Day (pssst...there's blog candy!)

Happy World Card Making Day! (When I told him, my hubby said "Really? I guess there is a day for everything!") Be sure to make at least one card today! I'm busy with a bunch of other things today (will try to make one card at least) so had my friends Joanna and Liz over last night and we had dinner and made cards. Just celebrated a bit early! Got a few cards made and had lots of laughs, thanks ladies! Be sure to keep reading this whole post to find out about some blog candy you can win!

This first card is for Betsy Veldman's Card Creations Inspiration Challenge (I picked Julie Cameron's card on page 126 and turned it into a Christmas card), the Moxie Fab Word Jolly Holly Challenge and for the Moxie Fab World Offset Scallops Challenge. Thanks to Betsy and Cath for great challenges!

This is for the Embellish Magazine Stamped Background Colour Challenge. I went for a subtle VersaMark background using the A Muse Clear Frames Set. One thing that the picture doesn't show is the shimmer on the white shimmer couture paper. It looks amazing with the dry embossing!

Teri Anderson also put out a challenge on Facebook to use orange or yellow on a thank you card. Splitcoast Stampers has Hope You Can Cling To Challenges for Breast Cancer Month and this one fits for Lori's 'Bring in the Brown' Challenge. I love the patterned paper on this next card, even though it has pink (not my favourite colour) on it. This is also based on Teri's sketch on page 9 of Go-To Sketches Magazine.

ETA - I actually got time to make a card today! It's for SCS Inspiration Challenge 252 (I was inspired by the pattern on this wallpaper) and Rae Barthel's WCMD sketch. Now I have to clean up and get busy with my other non-card making stuff!

Now....in celebration of World Card Making Day....if you comment on this post, you can win some A Muse blog candy from me! You have until tomorrow (October 3rd) at midnight Pacific time to comment!

Have a great day! Check out the WCMD Blog Hop courtesy of Paper Crafts Magazine! If you are looking for some inspiration, check out my challenge from Monday, this month's A Muse Lounge Challenge, and this week's Color Dare!

Thanks for dropping by!

300th blog post... treat time...

Yes, there are treats to but business first. This card is for the Moxie Fab World Trigger Tuesday Challenge for this week. Thanks Cath for another great challenge.

Still can't believe this is post #300! Seriously? Really? I was a reluctant blogger at first but have definitely learned to like it. It has helped me keep my sanity over the last six months while I've been out of work. Thanks to all of you who stop by! I appreciate all my followers, every hit and every comment. It's what makes blogging worth while. So on to the blog candy, cause I know that's why you are here... I'm going to make you work for it, just a little bit. You can get your name in the draw up to three times and this is how:
- leave a comment about something or someone you are grateful for
- become a follower of my blog and leave a comment saying 'follower' (if you are already a follower that counts too but you have to leave a comment)
- mention my blog candy (and include a link back to this post) on your blog and then come back here and leave a comment saying 'blogged it'

So up for grabs is an A Muse mug, an A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA canvas tote bag, some A Muse stamps, some A Muse pearls, some A Muse paper and whatever else I decide to throw in. You are eligible to enter until 11:59 Pacific time on August 2nd, 2010. Good luck!

I've also been playing along with the Dare to Be Dirty Challenges on Splitcoast Stampers. Check out my gallery to see what else I've been up to!

I am teaching at Scrappers' Anonymous next week so be sure to check out my class schedule for more details!

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by! I'm very grateful!

Random Amusing Challenge #52 - Blog Candy time

Wow - hard to believe this is challenge #52! Thanks to everyone who has played along over the last year. So, as a little little treat, I am giving away some blog candy!

First off, thanks to all who played along with the A Muse PJ party on Saturday. It was a blast!

Thanks to the following fabulous ladies who played along with my sketch challenge last week: Colleen, Michelle, Jill, Jennie, Novell, and Cheiron.

So, for this special challenge, I'm going to make you work a bit. The challenge is two fold: make a clean and simple card and combine it with another challenge. It can be from Splitcoast Stampers, my favourite the Weekend Sketch Challenge, one of my old challenges or from any other place (blog, craft site, etc). Doesn't even have to be a current challenge. Just anything you can find! The 'other challenge' for my card is the Weekend Sketch Challenge #89.

So there are some rules for the challenge:
- you need to leave a comment here so I know you've played
- you need to link back to this post when you post your card
- you need to link to the 'other challenge' when you post your card
- can use A Muse but it's not 100% necessary
- one entry per person
- enter no later than 11:59 Pacific time Sunday January 31st, 2010
- if you upload to Splitcoast Stampers, please use the keyword GRAC52

Oh right, I haven't mentioned what's up for grabs! Well...
- modern wood block stamp
- please join us stamp
- twinkle stickers
- clear stickers
- samples of each shimmer couture paper
- samples of ribbon
- whatever else falls into the package when I send it!

Hope you can play along! Please feel free to tell your friends to play along too! The more the merrier.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
Glenda

Random Amusing Challenge #20 & BLOG CANDY

I hope everyone had a good weekend. We were very self indulgent but also very productive. Gotta like that.

Must mention that I am doing a Make n' Take at the Crop for Kenya on May 30th. Scrappers' Anonymous and Treasured Memories will be there too! If you are intersted in attending, please contact Stephanie Cave.

So there's supposed to be something happening today... anyone remember? Hmmm... I'm coming up blank... must have relaxed too much on the weekend....

Oh wait...it's coming back to me...something about a treat (was I going to mention the cinnamon buns I made on Saturday)...no.... was it to mention about the new plants I put in yesterday (that's a treat for me)....

Ok, fine... here it is.... BLOG CANDY time! Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net To celebrate my 20th challenge, I've decided to give away some treats...included in the package will be:
- A Muse hello stamp, note cards, twinkle stickers, some pink tutu and lime sheer ribbon, and samples of the clear stickers
- Stickles from Treasured Memories Scrapbooking (next class this Saturday, April 18)
- Buttons from Scrappers' Anonymous (next class this Sunday, April 19)
- Silver diamond clips from Crafty Capers (next class is Sunday, May 31)
- pink brads

The challenge this week is simple... make a card in 20 minutes (or less). I made my card for this week in 10 minutes. What do you think? Love A Muse's long grass with the mini flower.

So to be qualified to win the blog candy, here is what you have to do (I'm not usually big on rules but this involves winning stuff so must be specific):
1. Make a card in 20 minutes - I'm trusting you on this one!
2. Post your card link as a comment on this post. Entries in the A Muse Lounge won't count. You must put your entry number on your post. Blogger doesn't number the comments. If you post to Splitcoast Stampers, please use the keyword GRAC20.
3. Please mention the blog candy when you post your card and link back here so everyone can play along. Thanks!
4. You don't have to use A Muse stuff on your card this time. Some people don't have any A Muse stuff yet (shocking I know).
5. Post your card by 7:00 pm Pacific time on Sunday April 19. That's 7 pm in Long Beach, California, 8 pm in Regina, Saskatchewan, 9 pm in Winnipeg, Manitoba, 10 pm in Youngsville, North Carolina, 11 pm in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, 4 am April 20 in Brugges, Belgium, 5 am April 20 in Petra, Jordan, 10 am April 20 on the Great Wall of China and 12 pm April 20 on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The winner will be chosen at random after the deadline.

Thanks to these fabulous ladies for playing last week! This weekly challenge (and the blog candy) wouldn't happen if it weren't for all these creative people playing along! Check out their amazing "scrappy" work.
Anne, Cheiron, Kerry, Michelle, Donna, Dawn, Debbie, Becky, and Analyn.

Have fun playing along! Hope you have a very creative week... be sure to smile and be thankful for how fortunate you are... Glenda
