Random Amusing Challenge #60

A bit late posting today as I was having trouble kicking my mojo in gear. I threw my dad a surprise 70th birthday party and it was a huge success! So my mojo is a little bruised after having a fun and busy weekend. My house is so quiet after having my whole family here on the weekend....the silence is almost deafening. Better put some music on.

Welcome to challenge number 60! The challenge this week is to layer some circles on your card. I've used two of my absolutely favourite stamps on this card. This card also ties in with the A Muse inspiration this week which is Woodland Critters! There are some fabulous papers being released (mine are in the mail right now...hope they are here tomorrow!) so be sure to check out the A Muse News and the other Muse's blogs for more inspiration! If you play along with the challenge, please leave a comment here. If you upload to Splitcoast Stampers, please use the keyword GRAC60. Thanks to Deb and Kerry for playing along last week!

Hope you have a great week and can plau along with the cleaning. I will be cleaning, crafting, cleaning, job hunting, and cleaning some more. Get in touch with someone in your family this week, it's good for the soul.
Glenda

No amuse-bouche sneak peak for me today

...because yesterday was my birthday! No time to stamp...It was also my 100th blog post yesterday too... how did that happen?

Anyway, have to tell about my fabulous birthday - it was a birthday of surprises. I usually try to avoid getting too personal on my blog but this was so great, I have to share. It started off on Wednesday evening before I went to my class. I got a sparkly present from Karl, an "I love you" ring....

...sorry no real photos... a girl has to have a few secrets!

...then a fabulous class on Wednesday night with some great friends - Deanne, Sara and Joanna...

...email wishes from family (none of my immediate family live here)...a bunch of home made cards...

...a surprise "Vino Stomp" pedicure after work with one of my BFFs Brandy. The colour on my toes is OPI's "Smokin' in Havana", a sparkly spicy colour, looks fabulous in the sun...

...a surprise dinner at a fabulous Italian restaurant with Karl, Brandy and her husband Dale. A fabulous meal with martinis, seafood, wine and tiramisu.

Wow, what an amazing day. I was so spoiled - couldn't have asked for a better day. My birthday was off my radar this year because I've been so busy. Also, I'm getting closer to 40 so didn't really want to think about it too much. Thanks to everyone who made it a fabulous day. I have the best friends and family.

I'm a lucky girl! Have a great weekend. Glenda

Random Amusing Challenge #15

Hey there...sorry this post is a little late. It's still Monday where I am! Without further ado...this week's challenge is designed to stretch your creativity a bit. We all have a colour we don't like very much (yes, even us open minded crafty people have a least favourite colour... admit it!). Mine is blue which I find odd because many of my friends and family have that as their favourite colour. The challenge this week is to make a monochromatic card with your least favourite colour! I hear a collective groan...you can use some neutrals to soften the blow. As always, try to use a little something from A Muse on your card. If you load to Splitcoast Stampers, use the keyword, GRAC15. I'm sending this card to my Dad as it's his birthday next week.

Thanks to all of these fabulous ladies for playing along last week (go check out their amazing stuff):
Cheiron, Dawn, Debbie, Donna, Jennifer, Jill, Kerry, Laura, Sherry and Analyn.

Later this week, I will post my card for the A Muse Lounge Challenge #3, which is to make a spring themed card. I've already posted it to SCS but it's a way too crooked photo. Will try to improve that before posting it here.... (hanging my head...;( ).

Have a stamping night tomorrow night for the first time in ages. One draw back to travelling... no stamping with my girls!

Have an amazing week everyone... happy stamping... and always have fun... Glenda

Card details:
Stamps: A Muse balloon bouquet, happy birthday mix
Paper: A Muse Madeira Blue and Ric Rac Pretty Little Paper, white and black cardstock
Ink: A Muse black dye ink

Glenda's Random Amusing Challenge #6

Seasons Greetings to all - hope everyone had a great Christmas (or Hanukkah or Solstice or...). I had a great Christmas in Vancouver with my brothers and my sister-in-law (and her family). The weather has been wild here so I'm glad for my little Suzuki 4x4. Karl and I also have plenty of practice driving in the snow.

This week's challenge is to use something old and something new on your card. I know most of you got some new crafting stuff for Christmas (or treated yourself to some like I did). On my card I used my new Marvy Scallop Rectangle punch and my old wire. I love using wire and have lots of it but never seem to put it on my card. This card also qualifies for Splitcoast Stamper's Fan Club Sketch for December. As per usual, the only other requirement is that you use something from A Muse on your card. Leave a comment here when you play along. If you post to SCS, use the keyword, GRAC6.

Here's a few hoilday photos... Karl and I, Karl and his boys (Brandon and Miles), my brothers (Roy and Tim) and I.

Happy New Year to all. Thanks for stopping by.... Glenda
