birthday heart

It's JoAnn's turn to pick the topping at Seize the Birthday and she wants us to add at heart to our card. I have a couple on mine.  The hearts are both dark purple but as usual, it's hard to photograph.

Be sure to check out the blog for the rest of the lovely designs from the rest of the Design Team as well as our Surprise Party Guest Amanda and previous winner Julia.

Hope you have a terrific day.

sparkle and shine

Happy Thursday crafty friends! The theme at Seize the Birthday is sparkle & shine thanks to Cathy.  Believe it or not, this card has sparkle and shine on it but it's hard to see! The alcohol inks used are pearls with some sparkle in them, the flower die is shimmer paper, the background off-white paper have a little bit of sparkle and there is sparkly embossing powder on the sentiment.  The camera and lighting weren't being very cooperative.

Be sure to check out the spectacular creations from the team and our Surprise Party Guest, Vicky.

Thanks for stopping by and have wonderful weekend.

whole lotta hearts

Welcome to February friends!  Everyone I've been talking to this week says "where did February go?". I am in agreement - January seemed to fly by even though I don't feel like I did much. Struggling a bit with pandemic fatigue... really itching to get on an airplane jet off to far away lands.  It's been too long... just trying to be patient and keep myself busy with reading, exercise and video chats!

So in honour of February, we are playing with hearts over at Seize the Birthday.  The theme is courtesy of our fearless and amazing leader Nancy! I love using hearts (especially since I don't make Valentine's Day cards) for birthday cards and 'miss you' cards.  When I first envisioned this card, the hearts were going to be running the same way as the alcohol ink. However, when I started building it, I decided it looked much better with them being oriented in opposite directions.  What do you think? Now wondering if I should have put some bling on it.... oh well. This card is pretty CAS and didn't take long to put together.  Which is exactly how I like it... remind me to tell you about the card I made for the next Seize the Birthday challenge.  It was quite the opposite to this one as far as how long it took... "insert eye roll here"

Hope you can play along! Be sure to check out the lovely creations from the rest of the team and welcome our new Surprise Party Guest, the fabulous Carol Mayne! Really looking forward to having her join us.

Hope you are keeping well and thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a terrific day and a wonderful weekend.

01 August 2019

fabulous flowers

Hey crafty friends... my only question this week is how the heck did it get to be August?  Feels like July just started!  Had a great July - it's my birthday month and I was able to do a lot of celebrating with friends.

Over at Seize the Birthday, we are doing flowers this week.  I must admit, I was having a hard time with this card.  Flowers aren't usually a problem for me... but apparently when I have to do one, they are a problem. So I stuck with clean and simple for this card.  Let's hope my mojo returns for our next challenge. (There is some Wink of Stella on the flower but it's hard to see)

Be sure to head over to the blog to give Su, our Surprise Party Guest, and the rest of the design team some love for their fantastic floral creations.

Happy August and have a wonderful upcoming weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

let's have drinks

Happy July friends! It is definitely my favourite month... full-on summer and birthday celebrations. Our Seize the Birthday theme this week is goes hand-in-hand with those... our topping is sunshine! Not sure why I always have a hard time with this... maybe because I don't have a lot of sun stamps. I decided to go easy on myself and use sunny paper with some cool beverages.

I want to welcome our new Surprise Party Guest, Su Mohr! Be sure to head over to the blog to give Su and the rest of the design team some love for their sunny creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a terrific day.
