elegant embossing

Happy Thursday crafty friends. I'm happily posting on time this week! At Seize the Birthday this week we are all about embossing (of any kind) thanks to Barbara.  I decided to use some embossing powder and do some watercolouring with some Distress Oxide ink.

Be sure to pop on over to the blog to check out the elegant creations from the design team and our Surprise Party Guest, Vicky Hayes!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

cream & gold

Playing along with Color Hues #3 - gold and cream.  I was inspired by this card from the CAS guru Jen. One thing I realized with this card is that gold is really hard to photograph!  LOL.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Canadian friends - a little strange this year! A bunch of my family were together last year and this year we'll be having a Zoom get together on Sunday - family from BC to Ontario.  Looking forward to it!

Thank you so much for stopping by.

glint of gold

Ack!  How is it almost September? I fell like the last two months have just disappeared! We've had a great summer so can't complain too much.

At Seize the Birthday this week, we are all about the gold thanks to TaeEun! I had another card ready but then I got some new goodies (the Field Notes Kit) from Lori Craig & Taylored Expressions that I had to play with.  There is gold embossing & the little paperclip. I also used my new-ish set from Julie Ebersole & Ellen Hutson for the sentiment. Gotta love it when I can create with goodies designed by two of my favourite crafters!

I know you'll have fun with this! Be sure to check out the blog to see the glorious gold creations our Surprise Party Guest Jen and the rest of the team came up with. This is Jen's last week with us - we'll miss her!

If you're looking for a new colour challenge, be sure to check out the new one Nancy has created - it's called Color Hues! I love playing with color so can't wait to play along.

Wishing you a terrific day and wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

delightful drinks

Hey crafty friends... I don't know about you but I'm definitely having my fair share of food and beverages these days! ;) Actually, I am trying really hard not to snack while at home (moderately successful) and limit my adult beverages to the weekends (again, moderately successful).

Appropriately, our theme at Seize the Birthday this week is food and/or drinks.  My love of delicious food and beverages is no secret so it won't come as a surprise that I picked this theme.  Hope you like the result! Olives never make an appearance in my martinis but I am fond of them with a twist.

Hope you can join us for this challenge! Check out the blog for the rest of the tasty creations from the team and Stef, our Surprise Party Guest!

Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are taking care of yourselves and staying well.

Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop

It's been forever since I played along with a Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop so decided, with my abundant spare time, that I should whip something up. The requirements that the card be 'spring' and 'coffee/tea' themed.  Thinking that green is pretty 'spring-y', I came up with this smooshy watercolour card.  The steam & cup are in gold embossing but it came out pretty dark in the picture.  Not sure why...

I will credit my friend Jill for the inspiration for this card... she recently sent me this fabulous card.

If you want to play along, all the details are on the blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Embossing is the boss!

Happy Thursday and welcome another Seize the Birthday Challenge.  We are playing with 'embossing of any kind' for our option/challenge. The topping is always an option; the birthday theme is really the only requirement. I did both dry and heat embossing on my card.  :) Just got this stamp set a couple of months ago... I can resist stamping in black because it reminds me of a Dymo label maker.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you can play along with us this week.  All the details are on the blog.  Be sure to stop by and give some craft love to the rest of the amazing design team.

Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.
