snow vs. martini

Wishing everyone a fresh and bright 2021! Hope you were have some relaxing (and safe!) downtime over the holidays and new year. Ours was very quiet (we have spent several Christmases on our own so not unusual) ... we had to work a bit but definitely had some chill time off.

Speaking of chilling out ... after taking December off, Seize the Birthday is back at it with a snowy background challenge this week!  I took the easy route and just did some white splatter.  That's basically what snow is anyway, right? I'm not a fan of real snow (I'd much rather be inside with a martini) but it was fun trying to figure out what to do with this challenge. Thanks to my team mate Barbara for coming up with this one!

Pretty simple but I like how it turned out (plus is has red on it so how can you go wrong?).  Hope you are able to play along and have some fun with this! Be sure to check out all of the spectacular snowy creations from the rest of the team and our returning Surprise Party Guest Julie Peddicord!

  1. Excellent snowy spatter! Love the retro font of the sentiment - it works so well with the classic martini.

  2. I do love an ice cold martini! *wink* Love your clever take on this challenge.

  3. Glenda, you always amaze me with your clean and simple cards and this is one that I would not have thought of, but you made it totally work...I love your splatters, of course that would be the drink of choice with snow coming down outside! Happy New Year!!

  4. I can count on your for a CAS style and you did not disappoint me at all. I love your take on a snowy background and that martini is the bomb!

  5. I will be right with you out of the snow and sipping a martini! I don's do cold! Love that you took what you wanted to make for the New Year and made it work! I love how it came out. Happy New Year to you both!

  6. Your "snow" works for me! I have a few friends who would agree with you being inside :)

  7. Fun CAS card Glenda, love the pops of red and the splatters look cool!! (:)) Cathy x

  8. Love your snowy splatters. A fun card.

  9. I am (pleasantly) surprised by your card, Glenda! Its not an outdoor scene, but it fits so well!! And how did you manage to make splatters look so perfectly round?!? I'm in awe!

  10. Great snowy card, Glenda! The polaroid frame looks like a window and maybe someone is enjoying a martini looking at the snowy outside :) !

  11. Another elegant, classy, CAS card (and I love your take on the theme!).
