If you guessed martini, well that is technically right... but the only thing martinis have to do with card making is that sometimes I have one when I'm crafting! It is washi tape! You know how much I love washi tape. I also talk about my other current love, wood veneers. I'll let you head over to Card Maker to read the whole post but I did want to share my tips for buying washi, as I've been asked about it by a few friends.
Washi tape tips:
- if you just want to buy a few, get one of each of the rainbow colors in addition to a black and a brown
- if you are just starting out, stick to basic patterns such as stripes, polka dots, chevrons, grids
- I tend not to use my solids very much. I also usually avoid really complex patterns with more than three or four colors.
- you may find the tape is too transparent and your colored card stock is changing the color of your tape too much. Just put it on some white card stock, trim the long edges and tear or clip the ends.
If you have any other questions about washi tape, let me know in the comments section. I'll do my best to reply. I've pulled together a washi tape inspiration board on Pinterest too!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week!
Glenda
