ETA - thanks to Yvette for the double sided tape suggestion. I tried that for about 30 seconds with some grosgrain ribbon, couldn't get it to work, threw it aside in disgust and grabbed the velvet ribbon instead. Felt quite incompetent. I will try it again with wider tape... I couldn't find it in the disaster that is my craft room right now!
