I'm a reject part V

Amber is hosting another Reject Blog Hop so you know I have to play along. It's such a fun idea. Before I talk about my card, I have to tell you a little bit about what goes on during Paper Crafts' "happy email day"(a.k.a. submission acceptance day). There is a lot of chatter on Facebook, with the editors telling us when the emails are going out, how many are left, what order they are going in, etc. I almost wish I didn't know any of this because then I wouldn't stalk my email all day (like I did yesterday). This is when I wish I was working now so I wouldn't have the chance to dwell and obsess.

Yesterday was acceptance day for Card A Day 2012. After spending most of the day (relatively unsuccessfully) trying to keep busy and stay away from my computer...around 2 pm, this was posted on the Paper Crafts Facebook page:

"Let's make this fun...I've got two first names that begin with an A, one name begins with a G, one name begins with a H, two names begin with a L, three names begin with a J, four names begin with a K and one name begins with a T. Let the games begin!"

Fortunately, the 'G' was me and I got 3 cards accepted! I was thrilled as this was likely my last submission until the fall due to being away for work and I've never had more than 2 accepted at once. Just to give you some stats...I submitted 33 cards - 14 new creations and 19 resubmissions. Out of those submitted, 1 was a new creation and 2 were resubmissions. Here is one of the many rejects. This is actually a double reject as I also submitted it for the last call (November/December).

After all that babbling...I hope you like it. It's not a colour combination I would normally pick but I was working off of the patterned paper. Being a prairie gal, I love these wheat stamps, designed by my friend Alli, and I think the colours came together well.

Have a wonderful weekend. The rain has arrived here, just in time for the long weekend. Hope it clears up... I was loving the sun this week.

  3. Love this card, Glenda! I am glad to hear that you got resubmissions accepted - I've sent some in before but never got any accepted so I wasn't sure if they liked "resent" ones or not - I didn't make it in this round but my friend, Roni, did and it is her first time getting a Paper Crafts e-mail so I am living vicariously through her!

  4. Hooray for you! I am sure all your cards are superb just like this one! When PC posted that on FB I was crossing my fingers like mad that I was the G!! Congrats!

  5. Oooooo...love those stamps! I love the color combo you used (even if it doesn't have red ;) Mega congrats on the PC pick ups! I'm so happy for you!!
