Here's wishing all of my blog readers a very happy 2011. Cheers!
Here's a card (no stamping!!! gasp!) to welcome in the new year! I know it will be better than 2010! It also plays along with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Strictly Stripes and Glitter is Glam challenges. Thanks to Cath for the inspiration!
2010 has not been the best year for me as it has seen me unemployed for 11 months of it (and I'm still on the hunt). I travelled a lot for my job and the lack of jetting away to exotic locales had a significant impact on my psyche. I have been going stir crazy at home as I am not a natural domestic. *ETA - Another thing that happened this year is that A Muse decided to discontinue their wholesale business and as a result, the instructor program is no longer. I'm very disappointed not to be part of this fabulous team any more but I'm grateful for having some fabulous (and lasting) friends as a result of being on the team. I am planning to keep teaching so stay tuned to my classes page.* In an effort to be positive, here are some things about 2010 that I am grateful for:
- My whole immediate family was together for the first time in 20 years.
- I taught some fabulously talented women in my craft classes.
- My hubby and I were able to do a few short trips together.
- I stayed healthy and (relatively) in shape. I was able to go to my 20th high school reunion and have someone comment that my appearance really hadn't changed that much in 20 years - no extra weight, no grey hairs (I don't dye my hair... yet!) and no wrinkles.
- My friends and family have been very supportive of me. I am fortunate to have the best friends a girl could ask for and a family who will always be there for me.
- I found out that I will be a published crafter
nextthis year! - I have a roof over my head, clothes to wear and food in my fridge.
- All of my fabulous blog readers who stop by and make comments.
- I have improved my cooking skills (see my ever growing list of Recommended Eats).
- I returned to my weekly yoga class as it helped to quiet my chaotic mind. I will be continuing it in 2011.
Thanks to all of you who follow my blog - I am eternally grateful. Here's wishing all of you a 2011 full of peace, promise, love and laughter.
2011 WILL be better than 2010....

Love this post Glenda. Is it bad that I like the cocktail shot the best? LOL Wishing you even more positive energy and great things in 2011! Love you!
ReplyDeleteI hope 2011 is your year, Glenda. And your card is sooo Moxie Fab!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you, too, Glenda! Thanks so much for dropping by my blog. So sweet of you!! It's been great seeing you among the commenters in the December Gallery Commenting Contest on SCS. I find that to be so much fun!! I hope you continue to play. And, yes, here's to 2011 being better than 2010!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this post because I can so relate. My husband was unemployed for several months in 2009 and when he did get a job, it was at 2/3 of what he was making before. One week from the day he lost his job we were supposed to take a trip to FL. We have yet to make that trip. It IS hard, but one thing I've learned over and over is that we must appreciate what we do have and make the best of it. We learn what is REALLY important when things are stripped away. Anyway, here's to a better year for you and hopefully to a year filled with exotic locations! ;) btw, congrats on you pub, that is exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous Fun post! Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great card too ~ just love all the sparkly stripes :o)
Each day brings it's own challenges and gifts. Here's hoping 2011 brings you more gifts.
ReplyDeleteCute projects Glenda! I love your list. You are right, lots to be grateful for. I am sorry you are searching for work and the AMuse thing ended. I wondered what happened there. Anyway, I cant' believe you don't have a single gray hair! Totally hate you for that! lol. I started going gray at 29. Sigh... thank goodness for Nice and Easy GraySolutions!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2001 to you, Glenda! Your glittery stripes look really amazing!
