Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Designer Drafts

It's Designer Drafts week over at the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  It's my week off but HAD to play along this week for sure... details to follow.

If you you didn't catch my post from yesterday, then you may not know I am a HUGE shark fan and it's the most wonderful time of the year, SHARK WEEK!  These sketches are PERFECT for Shark Week!  Kim, did you plan this on purpose, just for me? Hee, hee... this is what I came up with.

I was feeling unusually brilliant with these.  Aren't they JAWSOME?  A few tips on how I did these... the curved edges were just traced using the edge of a plate and then cut out.  The teeth are the negatives from my Zig Zag punch.  I had originally planned to just use the zig zags themselves but when I saw the negatives, I gasped with delight.  Perfect. So, I can't leave you with out some more educational facts (see yesterday's post) about sharks (cause it's part of my duty to try and conserve these amazing creatures).  Sharks have several rows of teeth and continually shed their teeth. A shark's skeleton is entirely made up of cartilage, which decomposes on death and this is why only teeth and a few jaws are found in the fossil record.   In addition, the jaw is not attached to the skull (like many other creatures) and it is able to extend out of the mouth during feeding (you'll notice this next time you look at a photo of a Great White feeding on something). Only 20 of the more than 350 species of shark are known to attack humans and these attacks are all a case of mistaken identity (a person on a surf board looks like a seal).  Sharks never purposely feed on people, we don't have enough fat on us! Ok, I'm done my lesson for today.

Hope you can play along with the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge this week!  You have until next Sunday, August 19th to play along.  Be sure to check to see what fabulous creations the team has come up with you this week!

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a JAWSOME week! Thanks for indulging my geekiness.
Glenda
