The other great thing that happened is I got an acceptance email from Paper Crafts Magazine saying two of my cards got accepted for the next edition of Go To Sketches! So thrilled!
However, with acceptance, also comes rejection! There were 84 sketches to choose from and I submitted for 22 of them. The official submission total, according to Paper Crafts, was 2,760! 2,760 - oh my... The editors had to narrow it down to 288 (four for each sketch). A very unenviable job, but wouldn't it but fun to look through all of those creations? Never mind, I would LOVE that job. Well Amber decided to host a 'Reject Blog Hop', so I decided to play along. Fabulous idea Amber! I decided to post a card that I won't be submitting anywhere else.

That sketch just screamed 'front doors' to me so I came up with this.
What do you think? It was one of those rare moments where I felt brilliant! Apparently not as brilliant as four other people (hee, hee). I'm thrilled though, I was just hoping to get one out of 22 and I got two! Two that I didn't absolutely love. Go figure. Just goes to show you that you should always try to submit!ETA - Apparently, in the art world, this is known as a Salon des Refusés (exhibition of rejects). The original was in 1863 in Paris and included a famous work by Manet, Luncheon on the Grass (Le déjeuner sur l’herbe). Other famous artists who have exhibited in the Salon des Refusés include Whistler, Cezanne and Pissarro.

I see brilliance for sure! Skyline background and paper pieced windows with the perfect sentiment? Love it! It even had a nice masculine feel with those colors. Congrats on the two you had selected!
